A Blurb About Kim

Many of you don’t know Kim or her journey through triple negative breast cancer over the past two and a half years. She’s a helper, a caretaker. She works hard to eat clean and use natural solutions whenever possible. She is a helper and a caretaker for herself. But especially for others. For our two kids. For me. For teen moms and their babies in the northern Colorado community. Add to that her immense network of friends whom she consistently shows up for at any time.

When she first got the news of her cancer in late December 2022, this is part of what I wrote: “I remember coming up the stairs not expecting the world to fall out from underneath my feet but there she was; Her beautiful blue eyes wide with worry and a little dose of terror. "It's not good. The nurse said it's malignant." We're not the first to go through this and we won't be the last, but it's......a lot. A lot of unknown, a lot of shifting goalposts and objectives.”

It’s been two and a half years and the goalposts are still shifting. The word “remission” was used twice and it’s come back both times. The word “indefinite” has been used recently with regard to her chemo treatments. Not ideal. Especially trying to live a normal life as a mom, wife, friend, sister, daughter, helper, and caretaker. Luckily, Kim is the strongest person I know. She’s the strongest person a lot of people know. And now you kind of know her a little more, too. Thank you for being a part of our community whether you know you are or not.
